DICT VA Training Program 2026: Free Virtual Assistant Course for Filipinos

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) offers free virtual assistant training under its SPARK program, giving Filipinos a structured way to build digital work skills and step into online jobs. The training focuses on practical, in-demand abilities that support freelancing and remote employment.

Because SPARK runs through regional and provincial DICT offices, schedules, qualifications, and application links vary by area, so interested applicants should always check the details for their own region.

What Is the DICT SPARK Program?

SPARK stands for Strengthening the Philippine Workforce through Adaptive and Responsive Digital Knowledge. It is DICT’s flagship capacity-building program designed to equip Filipinos with the digital skills needed to pursue online employment, freelancing, and entrepreneurship. Previously known as digitaljobsPH, it was rebranded as SPARK in 2024 and is now implemented through DICT regional and provincial offices across the country.

VA Training Tracks Available

DICT VA training runs on two levels:

  • General Virtual Assistance 2.0 — the entry-level track that combines foundational VA skills with AI tools and digital productivity platforms suited for how remote work operates today.
  • VA Services Level III — an advanced track offered in select regions that includes on-the-job training with industry partners and a TESDA credential, giving graduates real work experience alongside their certificate.

Think of General VA 2.0 as getting you ready, and Level III as getting you hired.

Benefits

Joining the program comes with real, tangible advantages for anyone hoping to start or grow a career online.

  • Free training with no tuition or enrollment fees for qualified applicants
  • Core virtual assistant skills, including email and calendar management, data entry, online research, and content creation
  • Digital productivity know-how, covering common tools used in day-to-day remote work
  • Exposure to AI-powered tools, reflecting how online work is changing
  • Industry connections through partner organizations, particularly for Level III participants
  • Better readiness for freelancing, online employment, and other opportunities in the digital economy

Other Courses in the SPARK Program

Beyond VA training, DICT SPARK offers a range of digital skills courses that participants may also explore depending on availability in their region:

  • Social Media Marketing 2.0
  • Digital Marketing with AI
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Graphics Design through Canva or Photoshop/Illustrator
  • Video Editing with CapCut
  • Audio and Video Transcription
  • 2D and 3D Animation
  • Data Science and Data Analytics
  • Mobile App Development
  • Blockchain and Cryptocurrency
  • AI Literacy

Each course opens a different career path and income range, from general VA work to specialized digital marketing and content creation roles.

Qualifications

Eligibility depends on the specific batch, since each DICT office sets its own criteria. Most training calls share a common set of requirements.

  • At least 18 years old
  • Access to a laptop or desktop computer
  • Stable internet connection
  • Basic computer and digital skills
  • Willingness to complete the full training program

For VA Services Level III, additional criteria may apply, including TESDA BSRS registration and priority consideration for women, solo parents, out-of-school youth, persons with disabilities, and returning OFWs.

Some batches are limited to residents of a particular region, province, city, or municipality. Others include screening steps such as typing tests or English proficiency assessments. Always read the announcement carefully before applying, as being able to register does not guarantee a slot.

Requirements

Supporting documents differ from one office and batch to another. Depending on the announcement, you may need to prepare:

  • A completed application form or letter
  • An updated resume or Personal Data Sheet (CS Form 212)
  • School records, such as a diploma or transcript
  • Certificates for relevant training or seminars
  • Proof of employment, where applicable
  • A valid government-issued ID
  • NBI Clearance
  • For Level III: PSA Birth Certificate, passport-size photos, and TESDA enrollment forms

It helps to gather these early so you are ready to submit the moment a batch opens. All documents are typically required to be printed on A4-size paper.

Procedure: How to Apply for Virtual Assistant Training

The process starts with finding the batch running in your area. Follow these steps to give yourself the best chance:

  1. Monitor official announcements from DICT and your regional or provincial DICT office, including their Facebook pages and dict.gov.ph.
  2. Confirm local eligibility by checking whether the batch is open to applicants from your location.
  3. Review the details, including the schedule, qualifications, and required documents.
  4. Complete the registration form linked in the official announcement before it closes.
  5. Take any required tests or interviews, such as typing or English assessments and a virtual interview.
  6. Wait for confirmation from DICT with instructions on your batch assignment.

Slots can be limited, so applying as soon as a call opens works in your favor. For general inquiries, you may also reach DICT at digitaljobsph@dict.gov.ph.

Training Format and Duration

Training format varies by batch and location:

  • Online — fully remote, conducted via video conferencing
  • Face-to-face — held at a DICT facility or partner venue
  • Hybrid — a combination of both

General VA 2.0 typically runs for about two weeks of technical training, followed by a ten-day Online Campaign where participants apply their skills in a simulated real-world setting. Level III programs run longer due to the OJT component.

VA Training Registration: Application Form

Heads up to Filipinos, there is no single nationwide registration form — each training batch has its own link, released by the relevant DICT regional or provincial office. So you need to watch out for the updates especially through their Facebook Page – https://www.facebook.com/DICTSPARK
