Requirements

The following are the requirements for ASG:

  • Original and a photocopy of the unsigned ASG document
  • The applicant’s physical appearance. In the presence of a consular officer, the document must be duly signed.
  • Applicant’s current passport and valid ID and a photocopy of the data page
  • Notarial payment of RMB 190.00 for processing within three (3) working days and an additional RMB 76.00 for processing within one (1) day.

Additional supporting documentation may be needed, and the Consulate may request these.

  • A photocopy of a document proving a relationship, such as a birth certificate or marriage certificate.
  • A photocopy of any documentation that proves your income, such as bank statements, employment contracts, employment certificates, and payslips.

How to Apply for ASG at the PH Consulate Office in Guangzhou

The following are the step-by-step procedure to apply for Affidavit of Support & Guarantee (ASG):

Step 1: Fill out the ASG form, but do not sign it.

  • Full name

Step 2: Complete and gather all the requirements.

Step 3: Go to Guangzhou, China’s Philippine Consulate General (PCG). The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Step 4: Submit the documentation.

Step 5: A PCG personnel will review your documents.

Step 6: Pay the notarial fees.

Processing fees are RMB 190.00 for three (3) working days, plus RMB 76.00 for fast processing within a day (1).

Step 7: PCG personnel will prepare the documentation that needs to be signed.

Step 8: Sign the documents in front of PCG personnel.

Step 9: Await the release of your document/s for three (3) working days.

Important Reminders

Keep in mind the following reminders for smooth transaction.

  • Your application will be denied if you submit unclear, incorrect, or incomplete documents.
  • All documents need to be translated into English legally.
  • Certain visa categories, such as HSWs (Household Service Workers) are banned for sponsorship.
  • It is not required for kids (17 years of age and under) or seniors (60 years of age and above) to apply for an Affidavit of Support & Guarantee (ASG).
  • The applicant(s) must sign the document(s) in person in front of the Philippine Consulate personnel or officials.
  • The name on the passport and the applicant’s true legal name must match for the document to be notarized. The signature on the notarial document must match the applicant’s passport and any other valid ID provided by the government.
  • The ASG application will be completed in three (3) business days.
  • Any documents submitted for notarization or authentication that are fabricated or altered may be seized by personnel or officials of the Philippine Consulate. The owners of the relevant documents and the fixers will both face legal action. If a document turns out to be forged, payment will be refunded.
