Both Master’s and Doctoral students receive stipends, with Master’s students receiving Php 25,000 per month and Doctoral students receiving Php 33,000 per month. Additionally, scholars are granted a Learning Materials and/or Connectivity Allowance of Php 20,000 per academic year.
The scholarship also includes support for transportation, with each scholar eligible for one actual economy class round trip per academic year from their permanent residence to the place of study outside their home province. The tickets for reimbursement should bear the dates at the start and end of the academic year. Qualifications

- Natural-born Filipino citizen.
- Not more than 50 years old at the time of application.
- In good health and of good moral character.
- Must have passed the admission requirements for graduate studies at any of the NCGSME member universities.
- Have at least two years of teaching experience in science and mathematics for a Doctoral; or at least one year of teaching experience or have graduated with academic honors or graduated as a DOST scholar for Master’s.
- If employed: Allowed to study full-time for two or three years (Residential Mode) and part-time for six years at UPOU (Distance Education Mode).
- For employees of the DepEd: Officially endorsed by DepEd (Signed Form 2A by Division Superintendent and Regional Director).
- Must have been in service for at least five (5) years.
- For employed non-DepEd applicants: Certificate of Employment, Permit to Study (Signed Form 2B by the Head of the University).
- Not a recipient of other scholarships.
- Willing to accept the terms and conditions specified in the Scholarship Contract.

Terms of Scholarship Award
The awardee is required to:
- Enroll in the necessary academic courses each semester and study either full-time or part-time (for UPOU) at one of the designated training institutions.
- Maintain a grade point average/general weighted average that meets the Graduate School’s requirements of the university and fulfill all academic obligations to continue benefiting from the scholarship program.
- Abide by the terms and conditions stated in the Scholarship Contract, which will be agreed upon between the awardee, DOST-SEI, and the Training Institution.
- Serve in the Philippines on a full-time basis after completing the degree, working in the field of specialization, for a duration equal to the period for which the scholarship was granted.
- In the event of not completing the program within the designated study period or failing to fulfill the service obligation, the awardee must reimburse the scholarship grant with 12% interest.
