The CMWSP is an OWWA scholarship program that is funded by PCSO and is available to eligible migrant workers and/or their direct descendants who plan to pursue education in the priority areas of science and technology.

The financing for this program is handled by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) through a replenishable allotment provided to and maintained under a separate account by the OWWA Secretariat.

What are the Benefits?

The CMWSP Scholarship offers financial support up to 20,000.00 per academic year till four to five (4-5) years of bachelor course at any Philippine college or university.

The program will be beneficial to deserving migrant workers and/or their direct descendants who aspire to enroll in courses with a focus on science and technology, as determined by DOST.

Qualifications

The requirements to apply for the Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP) are as follows:

  • The applicant must be an active OFW who deserves the opportunity and is under 45 years old.
  • The applicant must be an OFW child under the age of 21 who is currently employed.
  • The applicant must have a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 80% without failing grades in the top 20% of their graduating class for children of OFWs, or an OFW themselves with no failing grades.
  • The applicant must have a $2,400.00 annual family gross income, which is equivalent to ₱76,000.
  • The applicant must have successfully completed the Alternative Learning System (ALS) under the Continuing Education Program’s Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) with a minimum average of 85% or its equivalent, as certified by DepEd Accredited Schools.
